Mentorship

One-on-one guidance from mentors who’ve been there

A workshop teaches a skill; a network opens a door. But the hardest moments in business — pricing a big job, a partnership going sour, deciding whether to expand, hiring or firing — need something more personal: someone in your corner who has already lived it. Mentorship at JBC pairs you with an experienced mentor in your industry for exactly that.

Why Houston specifically

Houston has no shortage of accomplished Jewish business people — owners and executives who built companies here over decades, through oil booms and busts, hurricanes, and everything in between. What’s been missing is a bridge between the generations. The community is spread out, the veterans and the up-and-comers rarely share a room, and asking a near-stranger to mentor you is an awkward leap most people never make.

Meanwhile, the people who need guidance most — young professionals, first-time founders, newcomers to the city — end up learning by expensive trial and error, alone. In a community this rich with experience, that’s a solvable problem.

What JBC is doing about it

  • Industry matching— tell us your field and goals and we’ll pair you with a mentor who has walked your exact road, not a generic advisor.
  • Structured but human — ongoing one-on-one relationships, not a single coffee meeting that goes nowhere.
  • A path to give back — established owners and professionals join as mentors and pass on what Houston gave them.

Mentorship is where our education and network pillars become personal — one relationship, focused entirely on your parnasa.
